It is now Day 3,283 of The Hostage Crisis. A crisis in which over 290 million Americans are being held hostage by the threat of terrorism.

3,283 days since the United States was attacked by Islamic extremists master-minded by Osama bin Laden - with the threat of more to come. In effect holding America hostage.

It is now 3,277 days since President George W. Bush publicly swore to get Osama bin Laden "DEAD OR ALIVE".

In 1979-81 - America held President Jimmy Carter directly accountable for just FIFTY TWO American hostages held by terrorists in Iran. And the media kept a tally of how many days had elapsed since the hostages were taken. And questioned his effectiveness on a daily basis.

For a total of 444 days (from November 4th 1979 to January 20th 1981) - the American media pounded Jimmy Carter and his administration. What had he done? What was he doing? When would the problem be resolved? And each day that went by was tagged “Day 1 of the Hostage crisis” “Day 2 of the Hostage Crisis” etc etc The cumulative impact of this daily scrutiny is widely considered to have had a major negative impact on President Carter’s re-election campaign.

As America has endured 3,283 days of this new and infinitely more devastating Hostage Crisis - we want to know what has happened to George W. Bush's promise?

How come we have not yet got Osama bin Laden Dead OR Alive?

How come Osama bin Laden is still making threats of further terrorist attacks on the US and its allies - which are universally held to be deadly serious?

And how come the American media is not holding George W. Bush to the same standard of accountability that it held Jimmy Carter? Counting the days elapsed since over 290 million Americans started being held as hostages to terror. And asking the tough questions?

And while we're asking questions...

The following questions come to mind:

A) At a special NSC briefing upon his inauguration - George W. Bush was directly informed that the National Security Council regarded Osama bin Laden to be one of the three most serious threats facing this country.

1) What precise actions did he take during the 255 days between January 20th and September 10th 2001 to tackle the problem that he was notified was of such grave consequence to the nation?

2) What precise instructions were given to the FBI and CIA?

3) What coordination was ordered between these two agencies?

4) What efforts were made to pool intelligence resources and share the results with all concerned parties - including airlines and airport security officials?

B) 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. A money trail had long been suspected between the Saudi government and Islamic terrorists. Now there is direct hard evidence of a link.

1) Between September 11th 2001 and the recent revelations (uncovered by a newspaper) - precisely what efforts were made to conduct a vigorous investigation of those links?

2) And were there any indications whatsoever (direct or indirect) given by any member of the administration to the FBI, CIA or any other investigating authority to take account of possible political, economic or diplomatic consequences of such investigations?

3) When will the administration make public any and all communications it received since September 11, 2002 - from oil companies and/or their lobbyists and/or representatives on the topic of the possible adverse affects on their business if the US vigorously investigated links between the Saudi Arabia establishment and Islamic terrorists?

C) The World Trade Center was bombed on February 26th 1993.

1) On the 3,140 days between the 1993 bombing and the 9/11 attack in 2001 - precisely how many FBI-man hours were spent by FBI agents investigating prospective Islamic terrorists in the USA?

2) During the same period - precisely how many FBI-man hours were spent by FBI agents investigating alleged crimes carried out by Bill and Hillary Clinton? (Investigations which were concluded and yielded absolutely no criminal charges or indictments on any kind.)
